Melee Weapons[]

Creativerse golden legendary rainbownator 2017-07-05 18-28-38-85

Almost all melee Weapons in Creativerse take the form of Swords, except for the Twig that is available to all players when no weapon is equipped, and the store-bought Industrial Crowbar that was introduced to the game with update R44. All melee weapons have identical range and swing animation.

Melee Weapons can be categorized into tiers by the amount of damage they deal. Many Creatures have armor points and most have certain vulnerabilities against specific weapon tiers. Additionally, the Brawler Badge will activate the chance to randomly deal critical hits during melee combat after fulfilling 8 Quests. Critical hits will inflict more damage while fighting with any Melee Weapon.

All Melee Weapons can be crafted, or obtained as drops from Treasure Chests, Things or Keepas.

The Lumite Sword is the best melee weapon available in Creativerse, tied with the premium Rainbownator 5000 and Legendary Golden Sword.

All Melee Weapons apart from the Twig have limited durability (including all rare and Store-bought weapons), which scales with weapon tier. Durability is reduced on successful hits.

The green bar below the weapon's icon in the inventory will indicate how much durability is left. Additionally, the player will be notified by an onscreen message when the currently equipped weapon is significantly damaged and once again when it is critically damaged and will break soon.

When Melee Weapons run out of durability, they will fall apart and vanish, which will also be visually indicated on the screen. The Twig will become the current weapon. Repairing damaged Weapons is only possible through the Repairer Villager NPC, if Villager spawning is enabled in the world options.

Usage[]

To equip a weapon, open up the inventory ("E" key by default) and click-drag the weapon from the inventory on the left to the sword slot on the right. Right clicking the weapon in the inventory will swap the currently equipped weapon. If no weapon is currently equipped when a weapon is picked up or crafted, the new weapon will be automatically equipped.

To use the Weapon in combat, press Tab to cycle to it, then left click to attack. Attacking of players may be toggled - PvP can be disabled in game world settings or enabled within player claimed areas, with claim settings overriding world settings.

An option was introduced with update R55 (August 22nd 2018) that when enabled, creates a red outline around Creatures and other players when they are in range of melee attacks.

While the active Weapon is drawn, a powerful Gauntlet Smash attack can be used by pressing the middle mouse button (scroll wheel). This area-of-effect attack is always aimed at the ground directly in front of the player, and damage dealt is scaled based on distance from the impact. The base damage of the Gauntlet Smash depends on the Melee Weapon that is currently equipped.

The Gauntlet Smash can only be used if at least 75% of the maximum Stamina is available (75 Stamina points for F2P players, 150 for "Pro" players, and more if Stamina-enhancing Food has been consumed), and will deplete all of the player's Stamina.

While the Weapon is drawn, the player can use a roll move to evade attacks. This is executed by pressing the left-Alt key and any directional key, or by tapping any directional key twice quickly. Double-tap evade can be disabled in the settings. When in 1st person combat mode (toggled in settings), the evade will seem like a dash. Players can also roll when flying the glider. Each player has 2 regenerating charges of this evade move, which are displayed as small white arrows on the left side of the armor durability doll at the bottom right of the HUD.

Obtaining[]

Each tier of melee weapon can be crafted in the Crafting Menu (opened with "Q" by default) when the recipes are unlocked by either crafting or obtaining the sword of the previous former tier.

The Wood Sword can be crafted from basic materials, or obtained as a one-time reward for completing the first Quest. Quests cannot be repeated by the same account in the same world.

Swords can also be found in randomly spawning Treasure Chests underground:

Swords can also be obtained from Creatures as rare loot or pet-harvests:

Interestingly enough, when weapons are unequipped, a "+1 Twig" is shown, even though there is no actual Twig item in the inventory.

Legendary Golden Sword[]

The Legendary Golden Sword crafting recipe was unlocked as part of the Gold Pack which was only available to early backers. Players who own the crafting recipe can craft this item for other players, but acquiring the Legendary Golden Sword this way will not unlock the crafting recipe:

[The format of the following content will be updated soon.]

Weapon Skins (Costumes)[]

Since update R48 on October 26th 2017, seasonal weapon skins can now be bought in the Creativerse Store for Coins (to be purchased for real money via Steam Wallet in the "Coins" section of the ingame Store). These weapon skins might only become available during their according season (like around Halloween or around Christmas) in the future.

After buying such weapon skins, they will become activatable in the weapon costumes slot on your player characters doll in the inventory. No item nor crafting recipe will be received. If you activate any of these weapon skins, your player character will then be shown wearing this "cosmetic" weapon, no matter which actual weapon is equipped in the weapon slot - or even none at all (which will activate the Twig), However the stats (mainly damage points) of the actually equipped weapon will come to effect when fighting like usual.

Available weapon skins/costumes would be (for example): Candy Cane Blade, Crypt Cutter, Dragon’s Breath, Frostbourne, Kindness or The Grim Reaper.

Ranged Weapons[]

Vlad-a-Rangs and Shur-Ice-Ns are single-use throwable weapons with special animated effects that can be obtained during seasonal events (Halloween's Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign and Christmas' Elfi's Toy Drive). Both of these ranged weapons can be crafted after obtaining their rare crafting Recipes during these events.

Additionally to that you can throw many other kinds of throwables, including effective Explosives (some with additional elemental damage effects). All thrown items will be used up and destroyed upon impact.

Please note that aiming to hit creatures (or player characters) correctly can be tricky. It's advisable to rather aim at a block in front of the target, and to avoid throwing throwables uphill, since they rather often hit the next step instead of the target farther away. Usually creatures and player characters will display an animation and sound that will tell you that you have managed to hit them.

Usually throwables have a certain maximum range too. Additionally, when throwing throwables from a platform, they might sometimes seem to go right through the target and even ground blocks without causing any effects.

  • Stun Bombs inflict a small amount of damage while their main purpose is to stun creatures, which will render them unable to fight back or run away (for example while being tamed). Most creatures have their own "stunned" animation too. Examples: ca. 10 Stun Bombs can kill a Pigsy, ca. 16 Stun Bombs can kill a common green Leafi, ca. 20 Stun Bombs can kill a blue Keepa, and merely 4-6 Stun Bombs can already kill a small Pebble.
  • Explosive Bombs inflict a significant amount of damage. Examples: 2 Explosive Bombs can kill a Pigsy, 2-3 Explosive Bombs can kill a red Rockster, 2 Explosive Bombs can kill a Night Rockster, and 13 Explosive Bombs can kill a Corrupted Rockster.
  • Armor-Piercing Bombs are even more effective. Examples: 1 Armor-Piercing Bomb can kill a Pigsy, 2 Armor-Piercing Bombs can kill a red Rockster, 1 Armor-Piercing Bomb can kill a Night Rockster, and 10 Armor-Piercing Bombs can kill a Corrupted Rockster.
  • Poison Bombs are less effective, but require even rarer ingredients to be crafted. 4 Poison Bombs are necessary to kill a common yellow Pigsy. Feral Pigsies and Mossy Leafies are seemingly immune to the poison over time effect.
  • Freeze Bombs inflict freezing damage over time for about 3 seconds. However their damage output might not warrant collecting the rare ingredients necessary to craft these bombs. 17 Freeze Bombs are necessary to kill a Pigsy. Blizzard Chizzards, Rambeaus and Arctic Mirus are seemingly immune to the freeze-over-time effect.
  • Fire Bombs and Flaming Skulls inflict fire damage over time for about 3 seconds, setting player characters and Creatures on fire. Still, Creatures only suffer very little damage (around 30 Fire Bombs are needed to kill a Pigsy), while a few Creatures (like Warmworms and Hot Feet) seem to be completely immune to Fire Bombs. Please note that the effects of Fire Bombs and Flaming Skulls can be negated by activating the "Pro" game world option "disable fire spread" or deactivating the "fire sim enabled" player claim option.
  • Corrupt Bombs inflict corruption damage over time for about 3 seconds. Up to 30 Corrupt Bombs are required to kill a Pigsy. Corrupted Creatures seem to be completely immune to Corrupt Bombs. Please note that the effects of Corrupt Bombs can be negated by disabling the "Pro" game world option "disable corruption spread" or deactivating the "corruption sim enabled" player claim option.
  • Purification Bombs hurt and can kill Corrupted Creatures very effectively by purifying them and seemingly inflicting some "purification damage" over time too. Merely 6 Purification Bombs are enough to kill a Thing. Purification Bombs do not damage, but instead heal uncorrupted Creatures or player characters. This way you can help other players by healing them in multiplayer.
  • Globs of Goo do not inflict any damage, but can slow Creatures down when you can manage to hit them. This can make taming a lot easier too.
  • Snowcubes (that can be made from blocks of Snow in a Processor), Force Bombs and Flares inflict damage again (they did not for a while) against Creatures, however not much. For certain Trog Trap Events that can be summoned with Trog Traps during Elfi's Toy Drive, targets (butts) and specific Miru "Minions" sometimes appear that are vulnerable to Snowcubes only and will not react to melee weapons.
  • Rimecones can only inflict very little damage, but are also very cheap in their collecting or making (from Elderwood Leaves with a Plow or from Wood Treasure Chests that randomly spawn all over the surface at night). 2-5 Rimecones can kill a Pigsy, 8 Rimecones can kill a red Rockster or a Night Rockster, however ca. 60 Rimecones are necessary to kill a Corrupted Rockster.
  • You could use TNT-types (including Advanced TNT, Strong TNT and Super TNT) to damage Creatures in principle, but since these types of Explosives cannot be thrown and will also damage the surrounding (except for harder rocks), they are quite inefficient and difficult to deal with.

Since December 2017 it has become possible to kill Creatures for their loot by:

Luring cave creatures and night creatures into sunlight so that they will burn away in a blue flame will not make them drop any Loot Bags though; instead these Creatures will simply vanish in a puff of smoke after combusting.
