The Grand Arctek Chest is (despite it's look) a 1-block-sized storage chest with 40 slots (since R33 in August 2016) that can be used by players to store items in.
This storage chest can occasionally be found in Diamond Treasure Chests or Iron Treasure Chests. It can be rarely obtained from certain creatures like Things (either by killing them or harvesting from them when they are Pets) too.
This type of chest can also be crafted in your Crafting Menu (opened by typing Q as the default key) or at Crafting Tables (that still exist in older worlds).
To craft Grand Arctek Chests, you will have to unlock the crafting recipe first, by taking or crafting an "ordinary" Arctek Chest for the first time - the crafting recipe for this one is unlocked by taking Arcstone/s.
To craft 1 Grand Arctek Chest, you'll need (June 2017):
- 1 Glob of Goo made from Mold in a Processor or looted/harvested from many creatures including Pigsies
- 1 Stone Rod made of Stone, Limestone or Bedrock in a Processor
- 2 Arcstones obtained from Keepas of any kind (either as loot or pet-harvest) or very rarely found in Wood Treasure Chests
- 4 Stone Slabs made of Stone, Limestone or Bedrock in a Processor
To use chests you'll have to place them into the world (they have the size of one block and don't need free space above them to be opened) and then activate them by right-clicking or typing "f" (as the default key) when looking at them.
You can put whole stacks of stackable materials/blocks/items into these chests from your inventory or quick-bar by right-clicking or dragging & dropping with your left mouse-button. If you hold a stack of stuff with your mouse-button (left click), you can drag it over the chest and then right-click to drop only one piece of the stack (also repeatedly). You can also hold left shift + left click, then drag to move half a stack, or hold left shift + right click to move five items, or hold left ctrl + right click to move one item.
You can use the same kind of procedures to take stuff / stacks from chests.
You can name Grand Arctek Chests (these words will be shown instead of "Grand Arctek Chest" when you look at them from outside) individually, by activating/opening the chest and then clicking on the icon that looks like a square (note) with a pen to the right of the word "Grand Arctek Chest". You can type up to 30 characters into this array. Even though while writing into this field all letters look like capital letters, you will be shown lower case letters too after confirming your entry with "enter"/"return".
You can also change a few settings for each chest by clicking on the padlock icon shown in the top right corner after activating/opening the chest. Here you can set individual authorizations to control who will be permitted access to this chest (and its contents). Available permission-settings currently (June 2017): "just me", "world owner/admins", "world mods", "builders" or "everyone". On Claims the available settings are "just me", "claim admins", "claim interact only", "claim builders" and "everyone". Since R33 (August 2016) all chests are set to "just me" by default.
By clicking on the magnifying glass icon when in the chest, you can see the Transfer History to see who interacted with the chest in what way.
Chests cannot be picked up as long as anything is stored inside. After emptying them, you can pull Grand Arctek Chests even without having any Power Cells equipped. Of course you won't be able to take such items on claims of other players (or in worlds) where your permission level is set low.
If you have placed chests of any kind on a Creativerse game world before August 2016, you will have to empty them, pick them up (as said no Power Cell is needed to pull any of them) and then place the chests again to gain access to their new larger storage space.
