The Haunted Pumpkin is a decorative light-source the size of one block that spends a very faint light.
These non-aggressive ghost creatures only spawn in complete darkness at (ingame)night (starting a little later than 10:43 PM) and cannot be tamed, only killed. Ghosts usually flee from player characters and do not defend themselves.
Ghost creatures can be spawned on a Mob Spawner too, but in that case these non-tameable creatures won't drop anything at all when being killed, except for the stuff that players themselves have provided to the inventory of the Mob Spawner for the first creature to spawn.
Haunted Pumpkins can be crafted in your Crafting Menu (default key "Q") after the crafting recipe has been unlocked after finding the according rare Recipe page in Loot Bags of ghost creatures during the Halloween event. It is possible to obtain and learn such a recipe when visiting other players on their worlds or play a player-created adventure.
After learning this crafting recipe by right-clicking it in the inventory or dragging it over the character's model on the right side of the inventory, it will be permanently added to the crafting menu and as a rare recipe it will also "carry over" (be known) on all other Creativerse gameworlds after learning it.
To craft 1 Haunted Pumpkin, you'll need (as of R44 in June 2017):
- 4x Shredded Leaves made from any kind of tree Leaves (except for corrupted leaves) in a Processor
- 3 Bones that can either be made from blocks of Fossils in a Processor or be obtained from nearly all Creatures either by killing them or taming them, feeding and then harvesting from them
- 2x Yellow Pigment made of Yellow Flowers from Cragwood trees in a Processor, or found in Obsidian Treasure Chests
- 2x Red Pigment made of Red Flowers from Ashenwood trees in a Processor, or found in Obsidian Treasure Chests
Like all luminaires in Creativerse, Haunted Pumpkins do not need any fuel and will not go black by themselves after being placed in the world.
Haunted Pumpkins can be rotated in all directions by holding r (as the default key) and moving the left mouse button. The chosen rotation angle can then be "locked" too by simply typing "r", so that all items of the same stack will be placed facing the same direction.
Like all crafted objects and blocks, they can be picked up without the need to equip any Power Cells. Of course you won't be able to take Haunted Pumpkins on claims of other players (or in worlds) where your permission level is set low.
Despite the sound that they make when placing Haunted Pumpkins or switching them on, they do not visibly operate with open fire, so they also do not set flammable blocks on fire (tested and confirmed).
Haunted Pumpkins can be switched on or off by activating them (right mouse button or "f" as the default key) while looking at them.
The Haunted Pumpkin now illuminate more of its surrounding than right after it was implemented during Halloween 2016.
|Haunted Pumpkins can be wired up with activation devices like Switches, Number Pads or Pressure Plates. Luminaires will then serve as receivers and can either be switched on or off. Their interactivity can be toggled and defined with permission settings.|
