Basic Information

Tradeable Recipe pages and Recipe books can be obtained in different ways in Creativerse. Some of these rare Recipes look like Books, while others look like Scrolls ("Recipe Pages") or slightly crumpled Sheets of Paper (also called "Recipe Pages"). While their look has indicated their rarity level during Early Access (Recipe Books being the most rare type), this is no longer the case.

These Recipes can be learnt and such be permanently added to the crafting menu, available on all worlds. They are not for single use only.

Since update R50 rare Recipes now have a check mark added to their top left corner as soon as you have learnt one of them once and can already find them in your crafting menu (to be opened by typing "Q" as the default key).

The small icon on the recipe in the bottom right corner is a preview of the block or item that can be crafted after this recipe has been learnt. The numbers in the right bottom corner simply indicate the amount of recipes that the stack consist of, just like with most other items.

Crafting Recipe variants

In Creativerse different types of crafting recipes exist:

  • common crafting recipes that are part of the Crafting Menu (to be opened with the default key "Q") and greyed out until they are unlocked by collecting specific materials and crafting certain items
  • 4 crafting recipes for the Cooking Station, one of which (Soup) is already unlocked when crafting and placing the Cooking Station
  • Store-exclusive crafting recipes to be bought in Recipe Packs for Coins that are to be paid with real money via Store and Steam Wallet ("Coins" TAB of the Store)
  • event-themed Recipe pages and Recipe books that can be found or traded from NPCs on game world only for a limited timespan each around seasonal festivities like Halloween or Christmas. Surplus Recipes of this type can be collected and then given to other players, but only when meeting on the game world of the collector
  • non-tradeable event-themed Recipes that can only be claimed during the according event times, like Pumpkiru's Community Candy Campaign or Elfi's Community Toy Drive. During community events, certain actions of each Creativerse player are counted on a slider and will unlock rewards as soon as specific numbers are reached. These rewards can then be claimed by all players when clicking on the according reward icon in the game main menu or alternatively ingame, but only during event times. No surplus Recipe pages or Recipe books can be claimed or obtained
  • many rare Recipes that can be obtained with a bit of luck from randomly spawning Treasure Chests and/or certain from Creatures on all Creativerse game worlds
  • please note that many pre-machined crafting materials and blocks (like Columns, Bars, transparent Glass, Slabs, Rods, Pigment etc.) can be produced in the Processor or in the Forge without requiring any crafting recipes to be unlocked or used
  • some more blocks and materials can be created by using the Plow on certain natural blocks like Wood or Leaves, additionally to using the Plow on Dirt, Grass or Mud to create tilled land to grow Crops. Using the Plow also does not require any crafting recipe

This article is mainly about rare crafting Recipes that players can collect from Treasure Chests and/or Creatures and can also share (especially surplus duplicates that have been found) with other players.

This includes some, but not all, temporarily available event Recipes (to be found further below).

After learning ("consuming") such rare Recipes with right click on the recipe book or recipe page in the inventory, they will be permanently added to your Crafting Menu and will then be available on all Creativerse game worlds, even if the world option "world bound recipes" is enabled.

How to obtain

Currently many of these rare Recipes can be found in Treasure Chests.

However some recipes can only be found in either low-tier Treasure Chests like Wood Treasure Chests, Stone Treasure Chests or Obsidian Treasure Chests - and others only in high-tier Treasure Chests, which means Iron Treasure Chests (that spawn on blocks of the Lava layer in darkness) or Diamond Treasure Chests (that spawn on Corrupted Blocks in darkness).

Since update R48 "Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign Continues" on October 26th 2017, rare Recipes have become more common in Treasure Chests, especially in Wood Treasure Chests. While finding only one rare Recipe was once a 5 to 10 percent chance, you can now even find two rare Recipes at a time very often, sometimes even three rare Recipes.

Creatures also will provide you with rare Recipes now and then, especially Things and Keepas of any kind. These Creatures can carry many different Recipes with them. If you tame them, feed them and then harvest from them, you might receive less items all in all, but in time you can collect many crafting rare Recipes in a very easy way by that.

The rare crafting Recipe for the Super Extractor can solely be obtained from the very dangerous Things that spawn on Corrupted Blocks in darkness (during day and night).

A few rare Recipes (Banded Weathered Wood Walls, Barred Wood Windows and Weathered Wood Walls) can currently be obtained from Creatures living in Canyons Biomes, namely Trogs, Dustevils and Dried Leafies - additional to finding them in low tier Treasure Chests occasionally as well.

All but one rare Recipe (the Super Extractor as mentioned above) can be obtained both from Treasure Chests and also from Creatures (mainly from Keepas, Silver Keepas, Golden Keepas and Things).

Some special rare Recipes can only be found during event times in special containers that will only spawn during one month. During Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign, the first NPCs were introduced to the game and offered event-themed treasure chests with random content to players, to be "paid" with Pumpkiru Candy. During Elfi's Toy Drive, spawning Elfis directly offer a list of Christmas-themed recipes to be paid with Rescued Toys. Usually, surplus Recipes can be obtained from these NPCs too and then stored away to be given to other players later on.

Currently it's possible to learn rare Recipes - however none of the spare event-specific Recipes (no Halloween-related Recipes like "Haunted" ones, no Christmas-related Recipes like "Holiday" ones) - in player Adventures if the Adventure creator has put duplicates of rare Recipes in a storage that you can access during the Adventure.

Event Recipes have been tradeable via Adventures before too, but this is no longer possible since the Galactic Update R46 on September 6th 2017.

Please note that you cannot transfer any items like Recipe pages or Recipe books from any game world to another game world nor from Adventures to player game worlds. You will have to right-click rare Recipes or drag & drop them over your character "doll" in the inventory screen in order to permanently add them to your crafting menu. Only then you will be able to transfer the knowledge how to craft this recipe as part of your crafting menu to other game worlds, and then you can properly craft the according items in any other Creativerse game world.

How to learn rare Recipes

You can learn all of the rare crafting Recipes that you can find either by clicking on their icon in your inventory/bag with the right mouse button (by default) or by dragging them from the inventory over your player-character's model to the right side of the inventory, exactly like for consuming Food or Mushrooms.

Then the crafting Recipe will vanish from your inventory and a message will appear telling you that you have successfully learnt this rare Recipe.

If you already know that specific crafting recipe, the rare Recipe will not be used up and you will receive a message informing you that you already know this crafting recipe. In this case the rare Recipe will also have a check mark over its icon even before you can attempt to learn it again.

You can store all the duplicates of rare Recipes and you can give them to other players who don't know these crafting recipes yet. Recipes can't be put into any quickslots and cannot be placed into the world, but they can be stored in storage container like chests and can be given to other players by using the same storage container with the required permission settings or by dropping a player bag from your inventory (next to the garbage bin icon in the right bottom corner below your inventory window).

Be careful though: if nobody picks up the player bag and everyone leaves the area, the player bag will vanish like any full or only half-looted Loot Bag would that drops from any Creature.

Rare Recipes (and Store-bought Recipes) are never world bound

All of the rare Recipes that you have learnt by right-click or drag & drop will "carry over" to new/other game worlds in your Crafting Menu just like all the crafting Recipes that you have bought from the Store with Coins or claimed for free if they had been available for free (like the Forbidden City Bundle for example, or the very rare Rainbownator 5000 recipe).

This applies even to game worlds where the game world option "world bound recipes" is enabled in your Crafting Menu (so all common crafting recipes will have to be unlocked again on such game worlds).

Players who have bought or obtained the Pro DLC can disable this game world option for their own worlds, but this will not remove any rare Recipes from your crafting menu after you have learnt them, which also applies to seasonal recipes (Halloween and Christmas) as well as to all Store-exclusive crafting recipes that you have bought with Coins (or rarely claimed for free).

Even when starting to play on a new game world, all these rare Recipes will already be available in your Crafting Menu right from the start there.

High-tier Recipes and low-tier Recipes

Low-tier recipes are those that can most often be discovered in low-tier chests like Wood Treasure Chests, Stone Treasure Chests and Obsidian Treasure Chests, while high-tier recipes can only be found in high-tier Treasure Chests like Iron Treasure Chests and Diamond Treasure Chests.

Despite these classifications that were invented during early Creativerse days, low-tier recipes do not have a higher chance to appear as a finding or drop in Creativerse, and high-tier recipes cannot be found less often.

In actual fact, some high-tier recipes have a significantly higher chance of appearing in high-tier Treasure Chests than others and can often additionally being dropped/pet-harvested from Creatures like Things, Silver Keepas or Golden Keepas. Several rare recipes can be obtained from ordinary blue Keepas too, however mainly as a pet-harvest and only rarely.

Only a few low-tier recipes are a lot more common than others because they cannot only appear in Wood Treasure Chests, but can also occasionally be dropped/pet-harvested from Creatures like Trogs, Dried Leafies and Dustevils (like Weathered Wood Wall, Banded Weathered Wood Wall, Barred Wood Window).

Things will often drop a lot of rare Recipes, and also provide players with some rare Recipes when they are Pets and have been fed their favorite Food. So you can easily collect a much larger number of high-tier recipes duplicates like for Beacons or Adobe Blocks after you have tamed a Thing and harvest from it regularly, while you might otherwise need to search for a long time for low-tier rare recipes like for colored Beds or "decorative" Walls/Floors.

Please note that Pets will always only provide you with their best harvest if you feed them their exact type of favorite Food. If the Pet prefers common Sandwiches for example, but you feed them Turnip Sandwiches, their harvest will be of lower quality and smaller amount. Even if you feed a modest Pet another Food type of a higher "quality", the Pet will still provide you with a less interesting harvest, since it's not its favorite fodder.

"Farming" rare Recipes

To make specific Treasure Chests and/or Creatures that carry rare Recipes appear, you can create artificial Biomes on the surface of the world, underground or even in the sky using natural blocks that chests and/or the Creatures you are searching for will usually spawn on - to "farm" them then.

Note that only one or two chests will spawn (but not every time!) as soon as you arrive at these arenas. Chests will only spawn in darkness, and most often at nightfall, so using a Bed to skip the day is recommended. Leaving the area can make Treasure Chests despawn that have already popped up, and revisiting areas more than once within the same night will most likely not make new chests spawn with each revisit.

Event-themed Recipes

Before update R46 was introduced to Creativerse on September 6th 2017, players could learn event-themed rare Recipes from spare Recipe Books and Recipe Pages that other players would make available within Adventures. Since update R46 this is no longer possible.

Tradeable rare Recipes that have been collected during events can still be shared with other players by visiting the game worlds where players have been able to store surplus duplicates of these Recipes that they have saved there. Learning this recipes will consume the tradeable recipe page or recipe book (it will vanish), but the recipe will be permanently added to the crafting menu of the player character that has learnt the Recipe.

During the event Pumpkiru's Candy Campaign in Oktober to November 2017, players were able to collect Halloween-themed recipes from Pumpkiru's King Treasure chest that they could trade from The Great Pumpkiru or Pumpkiru Jr. for Pumpkiru Candy.
