The Wholesome Pie is a type of Food that you can only cook in a Cooking Station.
The one recipe you'll need to cook/bake all kinds of (!) Pies will be unlocked by taking ordinary Soup for the first time, which you can make with 2x ordinary Water or Molasses as a liquid plus 7 Vegetables ( 4x either Turnips or Crisphead Lettuce plus 3x either Turnips, Crisphead Lettuce, Horned Melons or any kind of Mushrooms). If you use Molasses, you can also use 3 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs or 3x Questionable Jerky to cook ordinary Soup.
No additional specific recipes will need to be unlocked to make Wholesome Pie. After the basic Pie recipe for the Cooking Station has been unlocked, many different types of Pies - like Wholesome Pie - can be made by clicking on the basic Pie recipe in the Cooking Station and then inserting different ingredients.
To cook 2 Wholesome Pies at a time, you'll need (as of R32 in June 2016):
- 2x Wheat grown on tilled soil near Water from Wheat Seeds (found when harvesting Tallgrass and/or Savannah Tallgrass)
- 1x Chizzard Egg obtained from tamed common green Chizzards or Night Chizzards Pets (to be tamed in Jungles and/or on Shores) or alternatively 1x Blizzard Chizzard Egg obtained from tamed Blizzard Chizzard Pets(to be tamed in any snowy biome like Mountains, Taigas, Tundras or frozen Oceans)
- 1x Mineral Water, that can be found in some oases in Canyon biomes as well as on the Stalactite layer underground and can be foraged with at least a Diamond Mining Cell or better; plus it can also be made by purifying Corrupted Water
- 3 more ingredients: either Turnips, Lettuce, any kind of Mushrooms, 3 Chizzard Eggs or 3 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs
Alternatively 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg can be combined with Turnips, Lettuces, Mushrooms or 3 common Chizzard Eggs to bake a Wholesome Pie, as long as Mineral Water is used too - and less than 4 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs in total.
When consuming a Wholesome Pie (by putting it into a quickslot, choosing that quickslot and click your right mouse button or by dragging this food over your character's model on the right side of the inventory) your character will be granted a bonus of 150 points to their maximum health as well as healing (health) over time for 15 minutes.
Only one Wholesome Pie of a whole stack will automatically be consumed if you use a stack. If you eat more Wholesome Pies (by right-clicking or dragging & dropping again) shortly after another, the effect will merely set/prolonged to 15 minutes anew.
Mind that only common Soup will unlock the recipe for Pies. Cooking any other types of Soup (like Tar Soup or Bog Broth) will currently not unlock any new cooking recipes.
Pets who prefer to eat Wholesome Pie will not provide you with their best harvest if you feed them any other types of Pies, like common Pies made with Turnips or Lettuce for example.
Other types of Pies can be made using the basic Pie recipe by inserting Wheat, different kinds of Eggs, Vegetables and Liquids into a Cooking Station. Depending on the ingredients, many Pie variants can be cooked:
- common Pie is made from 2x Wheat, 1 Chizzard Egg or 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg, 1x ordinary blue Water or Molasses or Bog Water or Tar, and 3 Vegetables (currently only either Turnips or Crisphead Lettuce) or 3 more Chizzard Eggs. Alternatively also 1 Chizzard Egg and 3 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs can be used. If you use Bog Water or Tar, adding Mushrooms of any kind will also result in common Pie (instead of Mushroom Pot Pie)
- Melon Pie is made from 2x Wheat, 1 Chizzard Egg or 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg, 1x ordinary blue Water or any other kind of Liquid, and 3 Horned Melons
- Mushroom Pot Pie is made from 2x Wheat, 1 Chizzard Egg or 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg, 1x ordinary blue Water (no other kind of Liquid will do, not even Molasses), and 3 Mushrooms of any type, either red, brown or glowing
- Chizzard Pot Pie is made from 2x Wheat, 1 Chizzard Egg or 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg, 1x ordinary blue Water or any other kind of Liquid, and 3x Questionable Jerky (made in a Forge from either Chizzard Gizzard or Blizzard Chizzard Gizzard, obtained by killing any kind of Chizzard (except for Corrupted Chizzards) or harvesting from them when they are your Pets)
- Frigid Pie is made from 2x Wheat, 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg, 1x ordinary blue Water or any other kind of Liquid, and 3 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs again (obtained from tamed Blizzard Chizzards that spawn on Snow during the day)
- Wholesome Pie is made from 2x Wheat, 1 Chizzard Egg, 1x Mineral Water, and 3 more ingredients (Turnips or Lettuce) or any kind of Mushrooms or 3 Chizzard Eggs or 3 Blizzard Chizzard Egg. Also 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg can be combined with Turnips, Lettuces, Mushrooms or 3 common Chizzard Eggs to bake a Wholesome Pie, as long as Mineral Water is used too - and less than 4 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs in total
- Blazing Pie is made from 2x Wheat, 1 Chizzard Egg, 1x liquid Lava, and 3 more ingredients (Turnips or Lettuce) or any kind of Mushrooms or 3 Chizzard Eggs or 3 Blizzard Chizzard Egg. Also 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg can be combined with Turnips, Lettuces, Mushrooms or 3 common Chizzard Eggs to bake a Blazing Pie, as long as liquid Lava is used too - and less than 4 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs in total
- Corrupted Pie is made from 2x Wheat, 1 Chizzard Egg, 1x Corrupted Water, and 3 more ingredients (Turnips or Lettuce) or any kind of Mushrooms or 3 Chizzard Eggs or 3 Blizzard Chizzard Egg. Also 1 Blizzard Chizzard Egg can be combined with Turnips, Lettuces,, Mushrooms or 3 common Chizzard Eggs to bake a Corrupted Pie - as long as Corrupted Water is used too - and less than 4 Blizzard Chizzard Eggs in total
Wheat can be grown (with a Plow) from Wheat Seeds which can be occasionally obtained while harvesting Tallgrass or Savannah Tallgrass. You have to plant these seeds under fitting conditions (on tilled soil with water nearby) to receive Wheat.
Chizzard Eggs can only be obtained from tamed Chizzards or Night Chizzards (spawning on Shores on Shorewood, in Jungles or more rarely in Canyons) after they have become your Pets and you have fed them their preferred type of Food.
Blizzard Chizzard Eggs can only be obtained from tamed Blizzard Chizzard Pets. Blizzard Chizzards usually spawn during the day on Snow in Taigas, Tundras, on frozen Oceans or frozen plains.
Questionable Jerky can be made in a Forge from either Chizzard Gizzard or Blizzard Chizzard Gizzard - these Gizzards can be obtained from Chizzards, Night Chizzards and/or Blizzard Chizzards - either from their Loot Bags or by harvesting from them if they are your Pets.
