Wood Doors are usable pieces of furniture that can be crafted in your Crafting Menu (opened by "Q" as the default key) or at Crafting Tables (that still exist in older worlds).
The crafting recipe for Wood Doors is already in your Crafting Menu when you start to play Creativerse for the first time, you won't need to unlock it.
To craft 1 Wood Door, you'll need (as of R34 in December 2016):
- 1 (block of) Beeswax, found on trees or in Wood Treasure Chests, can also be grown from Queen Bees on Leaves or Wood in suitable biomes
- 2 (blocks of) any kind of Wood or Log, found in Woodlands, Forests and many other Biomes, also in randomly spawning Wood Treasure Chests
- 2x Vines, taken from Cragwood-trees, Wildwood-trees in the Jungle or obtained from several kinds of Leafies
- all of these ingredients can be harvested without needing to equip any Power Cells first
Crafting Wood Doors is one of the requirements to unlock the crafting recipe for Stone Doors.
Wood Doors can be opened and closed after being placed by activating them (right-click or "f" as the default key). If you place two doors next to each other (even of different types), they will both open simultaneously when being activated.
|Wood Doors can be wired up with activation devices like Switches, Sensors, Number Pads or Pressure Plates. Doors will then serve as receivers and can be opened, closed and locked. Their interactivity can be toggled and defined with permission settings.|
Creatures cannot open closed doors, but some might be able to use their special attacks through doors on your character if they are close enough, so better be careful. Currently (as of R30 in April 2016), other players can open and close doors when visiting your world and/or claim, even if they are set to "Visitor". However if you lock doors (by disabling the option "can interact" when looking at the door with a Wiring Tool equipped, players cannot open doors.
You can rotate Wood Doors (hold down "r" and use your left mouse-button to move them), however only sideways by any usual means.
Attention: Wood Doors are flammable! When placing Wood Doors into hot environments close to (or especially directly above) torches or fiery blocks (like Hardened Lava), Wood Doors can easily start to burn. Liquid Lava or Fire Bombs will immediately set them on fire.
If Wood Doors start burning, also other flammable blocks nearby can catch fire, and this way a whole wooden house or forest (especially Wildwood, Parchwood and Shorewood) can burn down in hot biomes like Jungles, Savannahs, Shores or on the Lava layer. Fire can only be stopped from spreading by claiming the area and creating forest aisles/swaths wide enough so the flames cannot leap over, or by disabling the world option for spreading fire.
Since R32 you won't need to equip any Power Cells to pick up any kind of crafted objects or blocks that have been placed into the world. Of course you won't be able to take these away on claims of other players (or in worlds) where your permission level is set low.
